Our Founder — Kertawidyawati

At the heart of Widya’s World of Wines (WWW) is Kertawidyawati, a trailblazing figure in Indonesia's wine community whose vision and leadership have transformed the landscape of wine education in the archipelago. Her pioneering efforts have not only introduced world-class wine education to Indonesia but have also built a foundation of professional excellence that continues to shape and inspire the hospitality industry today.

Her groundbreaking achievements include becoming the first WSET-certified educator in Indonesia, introducing comprehensive WSET programs in 2017, and establishing prestigious academies in both Bali and Jakarta. She also successfully advocated for the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines as the recognized minimum qualification for professional sommeliers in Indonesia. Currently, she is pursuing the prestigious WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines in Hong Kong—an advanced achievement representing the pinnacle of global wine education.

Beyond her educational leadership, Kertawidyawati is recognized internationally for her contributions to the wine world. She is an active wine writer and content creator, an international wine judge, and a proud member of the OIV (International Organisation of Vine and Wine).

Her vision ensures that Widya’s World of Wines is not merely an institution, but a movement—a driving force to uplift Indonesia’s wine standards, nurture the next generation of wine professionals, and create lasting opportunities across the hospitality and F&B sectors.

Our Milestone & Achievement

Our journey reflects a steadfast commitment to continuous growth and excellence in wine education. Each milestone represents not only the progress of Widya’s World of Wines, but also the collective advancement of Indonesia’s wine industry and the professionals we proudly serve.

  • 2017 - WSET Introduction to Indonesia

    The journey began with the introduction of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) to Indonesia. By launching the first academy in Bali, we brought internationally recognized wine education to the country’s hospitality professionals for the very first time.

  • 2019 - Founding of Widya’s World of Wines

    Building upon this foundation, Widya’s World of Wines (WWW) was officially established as a dedicated platform for comprehensive wine education, consultancy, and industry development.

  • 2024 - Jakarta Academy Launch

    To extend accessibility, we expanded to Indonesia’s capital by opening the Jakarta Academy, ensuring that wine professionals in the nation’s largest hospitality market could gain access to world-class education.

  • 2025 - Official Incorporation

    WWW entered a new chapter as PT. Widyas World Of Wines, formally incorporated in Indonesia. This milestone laid the groundwork for sustainable growth and expanded service offerings.

  • 2025 - Historic CMS (Court of Master Sommeliers) Partnership

    In July 2025, we achieved a historic breakthrough by being appointed the Official Indonesia Organizer for the Court of Master Sommeliers Europe. The inaugural examination will take place in October 2025 at the Fairmont Hotel Jakarta, marking a pivotal moment for Indonesia’s hospitality and wine industry.

  • 2026 - Apointed as Approved Program Provider WSET in Indonesia

    In 2026, Widya’s World of Wines was officially appointed as an Approved Program Provider (APP) of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) in Indonesia, marking a significant milestone in our journey.
    This recognition affirms our commitment to delivering globally standardized wine education with the highest level of quality and credibility, while enabling us to independently conduct WSET programs and further strengthen our role in shaping the future of wine education in Indonesia.
